Right now, we face hardtimes.
The economy is tough onfamilies and small businesses.
Inflation is on the march.
A silent tax on the most vulnerable in society.
Mortgage payments, groceries, fuel, power, and school fees are skyrocketing.
Margins are tight—and I know you’re feeling the pressure.
Given these challenges, you’d hope that Labor Treasurer Jim Chalmers would be laser-focused on buildinga strong economy that lifts real wages and our living standards.
Sadly, our hopes weredashed on Tuesday night.
Chalmers unveiled his third Labor budget this week.
There was no seriousattempt at addressing the deep causes of the cost-of-living crisis that youfeel today.
Instead, Chalmers splashed out tens of billions of taxpayer dollars in extra spending that will drive up the cost of everything.
Economists across theboard have slammed this reckless spending.
Labor is plunging Australia head first into an inflationary crisis—worse than the US, Singapore, Germany, Japan, and many other developed countries.
Want a datapoint? Labor’s reckless spending of $315 billion since May 2022 has forcedup interest rates 12 times.
Home ownership is now a distant dream for many Australians.
If not a growing nightmare.
Even worse, Labor isopening our front door to a record 1.67 million migrants over five years.
I welcome people who choose to make Australia their home. They work hard, and build our country up.
But our immigration program must be realistic, well-managed, and in the interests of us all.
The Coalition willreduce permanent migration to 140,000 for two years, then to 150,000 and160,000 in subsequent years.
We’ll return the refugee program to its long-term average of 13,750, reduce the number of foreign students at our universities, and ban foreign residents from buying existing homes for two years.
To boost our economy,we’ll double the work bonus for 8,000 pensioners, extend asset write-offs forsmall businesses, and ramp up domestic gas production.
To strengthen community safety, the Coalition will crack down on knife crime and enforce tougher bail laws.
And we’ll tackle the surge in ugly anti-semitism we’ve seen following the horrific attacks on Israel last October.
Labor knows that we areliving in dangerous times.
But it’s only theCoalition who takes national security seriously.
We will invest indefence industry to build our resilience and self-reliance.
And we will build a strong Australian Defence Force that will prevail in high intensity war-fighting.
The Coalition’sback-to-basics economic plan will curb inflationary spending, reduce regulatoryroadblocks, lower your taxes, safeguard national security, and ensure you haveaccess to affordable and reliable energy.
You can’t afford another three years of Labor failures.
At the next election, you know what to do.
Vote for Peter Duttonand the Coalition to get Australia back on track.
