    Hi Barneydebear and all,

There may well have been a tad of sarcasm in that post; clearly a mate of mine in the UK spotted it and felt the need to send me an E-mail with the following link. Many a true word said in jest!

I agree with you that this can’t go on forever; as some think we don’t need people on jobs or a manufacturing base at all and we can just print money and buy flat screen TV’s and cotton underpants from China.

I was in the UK during August and I have posted this interview before; however, this guy I feel at least has a reasonable handle of things being one of the reporters in the current media scrum I have a little time for.

“In the 30 years or so that I have been writing about world affairs and the international economy, I have never seen a more dangerous confluence of circumstances, or more remarkable complacency”.

What do you think of us starting to put together a petition to have Australia’s Gold repatriated from the Bank Of England it worked OK for the Dutch but not so well for the German’s!

Spoke to a mate in the UK that owns a property in rural France that tells me there is a lot more talk about France leaving the Euro since the last election. I was thinking it would be a toss-up if Germany would be first to leave voluntary or Greece being chucked out, pleased I didn’t bet on it.

We certainly live in interesting times.

Cheers and very best regards: Andy
