    Hi Timber and all,

I guess if you see everything through your rose coloured glasses and accept the spoon fed government spin you will never see much below the surface.

The UK government are as good as any at juggling the figures. If the CPI (1.6%) is true as stated how come you found things “stupidly expensive?”

As to the skilled labour shortage that’s because those with any skills to sell have to go off shore to find a decent wage. I suggest your sister sell her house whilst the going is good because even without me knowing the price I doubt many buyers could afford the mortgage on (before tax) GBP 477 per week.

With the next raise the minimum hourly rate moving up to GBP 6.50 per hour those fortunate enough to put in 38 hours will make GBP 247.00 before tax per week. By the way after the income tax allow for another 20% loss of buying power due to the VAT (GST.) My guess that’s around what you and your wife paid for a decent restaurant dinner last night with wine. Next time you eat dinner out why not ask the person bringing your food just how well they are doing it’s not too difficult I do it all the time.

Of course people like you and I are doing just fine; however, I can still see that many are doing it tough in the UK. Turn on the TV or read a paper see those ads for just how easy it is to go bankrupt and get rid of your debts in the UK! (Maybe ask why are there so many.)

Employment up 800,000 take 1.4 Million people out of the dole figures by putting them on something called a zero hour contracts may give the government a warm fuzzy feeling but the reality is very different.

If a young up and coming person in the UK can pay off their education loan, credit card loan, car loan, rent and feed themselves whilst holding down two or three jobs they should soon be able to make a down payment on a house and enjoy life as you and I do.

By the way please don’t question my parentage again as I don’t take insults well, particularly from some latter day greasy dago with his head so far up his own arse he can’t see the world around him.

And people wonder why I buy and hold physical Gold for insurance and protection of my future purchasing power. Now I just need to find some medical help so that I can suffer fools more easily!

Cheers and very best regards: Andy
