Most goldbugs won't remember the last 2 gold routs, but I remember them very specifically, the dupes thought it would never end, even as gold spiked vertically.
The economic world was in the process of collapsing and the only survivors were going to be the goldbugs, but instead the dopey goldbugs got wiped out never to be seen again until a new army of suckers turns up telling us the same thing.
You know - crushing debt, the DJIA is in a mania, collapse imminent, deflation or inflation, take your choice, etc. etc.
