Airline ticket prices have dropped dramatically over the years as aircraft have become more efficient. The first jet aircraft I flew was the DC8..it had 140 seats, 4 engines, used huge amounts of fuel and 3 tech crew. New aircraft about the same size have 2 engines, 2 tech crew, more seats, use half the amount of fuel and fly routes determined to have the least fuel consumption.
The same as space launches happen on a weekly basis, some not far from where I live in NZ.
Have you given any thought as to why the gold price can't get any traction? I have.
