Skol... Gold is many things, but it is not in isolation a commodity, as commodities are usually consumable and as you so frequently point out there are limited uses for gold, other than the obvious.
So, I'd say there is a large portion of gold investors and traders who see gold as a commodity, a form of currency and indeed as money... not to mention as a good hedge against extreme market moves.
I must say I was a little perplexed to see you still on here, thought you'd vowed you were gone, and would not be returning.
