About Global Time (环球时报)，here in China it's hardly favored by ordinary Chinese people due to its ideological and advocacy tone. It's always derided, with homophones, as 环球屎报 (Global sh!t-Times). It's not to say everything they say is wrong, but better take it with a grain of salt. Same to western propaganda machine BBC, CNN etc. especially on whatever they report about China.
