    So when the principle of "Freedom of Religion" meets a "Religion" that a country finds unacceptable, how is this resolved?

    It seems obvious to me that you would not allow residency to people with certain beliefs (religious or otherwise) - Australia is a Liberal Democracy and its seems that people who are applying to reside in Australia should have a cohesive set of beliefs. To do otherwise would promote social disharmony.

    It also seems obvious to me that allowing the establishment of organizations that promote beliefs that are fundamentally against a Liberal democracy, should also be more regulated.

    Pitted against this are some other things that seem obvious but contradict the above:
    - people should have freedom of religion
    - people should have freedom of thought and association


    Genuinely concerned but also confused........................
