In Africa 'religious people' treated children with disability via "exorcism".
They believe the children to be witches and poured oil down their throats. The Government (like Tony Abbott) believed in "religious freedoms" over rideing reason and not only didn't punish the child abusers, they gaoled the children because they too 'believe' in witches and the 'devil' etc etc. Theocracy is responsible for the worst atrocities in human history.
Right now we have Islamists invoking "religious freedom" aka freedom to act on superstition, resulting in cattle being tortured. The Islamists aren't even the one who do the killing, the poor bastard working at the abattoir who gets PTI doing it.
