I'm pretty lucky to be surrounded by local rural abattoirs where they are definitely not halal in any way shape our form.
I do however understand where you are coming from as some butchers buy meat that has been rejected for whatever reason from halal abattoirs and pass it off as normal meat.
Perhaps this is where pomhat buys his meat from, but he wouldn't know anyway because he doesn't care apparently.
