China is sending out too many confusing signals & indications are that they've mis-stepped with centrally managing their economy?
So much good has China done for lifting people out of poverty and provide cheap product to much of the World!
Some of the challenges & confusion China has shown - these come front & centre to my mind:
1.One child policy coming home to roost
2.Aging population
3.Silk Road investment expanding its tentacles OR being good to others less fortunate?
4.Wanting Taiwan to be under their rule - is it history OR perhaps economics OR feel threatened having a democracy so close? Surely not.
5.Mates with Russia who profess to not be engaging in war with Ukraine - others disagree!
6.Changing rules on their imports - weaponising commerce
7.Expansion of control of waterways towards Asian neighbours
8.Being a catalyst to re-rout the Globalisation gains of the past 40 plus years
9.Over-building leading to property market turmoil
How can anyone unravel the mess China appears to be creating for itself & the World at large!
I'd expect others can add to this list?
