I'm sorry you have got it all wrong. The natural graphite market is only 500,000 tons, a very very small market. What you don't understand is there are companies outside of australia which have much better projects than syr and ton put together. There's extremely high grade deposits in Sweden, Canada and Madagascar, and way along the production curve of syr and ton. By the time ton gets a resource out, others will be mining and there will be a over supply.
China is the main user of graphite, you recon ton can compete with their low cost mines. In the past when other mines have opened around the world they the Chinese up production a little bit, kill the graphite price, kill the competitor, and go about supplying almost all the graphite in the world again.
The Chinese have limited supply now to increase the price of graphite and make some good money for the country, as soon as there dominance is threatened, the Chinese will increase production. They did it with rare earths, and they are doing it with graphite. Ton isn't a long term proposition, it's a short term play and such should be treated like that. Doesn't mean there's no money to be made, we have had a big spike and people are making some serious $$, people have to think about selling, if they want to turn paper profit into real $$$
