Hi folks,
To keep things fun I am going to offer a prize to the person who can guess closest to BHP's half yearly profit numbers. FY15 was USD $6.4B, so all things being equal the benchmark number is $3.2B.
Please guess in USD and the closest guess will win the value of 1 BHP share, based on the ASX price at close on the day HY numbers are released. If they are released after close it will be based on closing price the following day. Funds will be submitted via PayPal in AUD.
To get the ball rolling I am going to guess a drop of 68%, 1.03B USD.
If they report in AUD I will plug the figure into XE.com at 4PM Melbourne time to find the winner.
Once someone has guessed to a fraction on 0.01B you cannot guess that figure, if two people are both an equal amount from the actual figure I will split the prize.
