the halal food debate is another forum for the Muslim haters to shine.....and another opportunity for them to show their ignorance and their tendency to be irrational.

Boycotting Australian companies for being halal certified is dumb.
Apart from meat products the certification informs the user of ingredients that are NOT found in product.....pork,etc.
There is no blessing or any other superstitious activity. It is similar to stating there are no nuts in the food.....but there are plenty of anti-halal nuts.

Australian companies are penalized because of the irrational behavior of a few Australians.
    Big overseas markets are cut.

Halal certification is nothing more than a business decision to maximize profits.....and nothing to do with religion......and it is largely targeted for overseas consumers.

Because it relates to Muslims it must relate to terrorism and of course it must be sanctioned by the Koran.
    NOT TRUE AND NO EVIDENCE

If there is a shred of evidence that the compliance fee for Halal Certification in Australia was being used to sponsor terrorism the AFP would shut them down in an instance. In such a public debate the AFP would be all over the issues.Their silence is telling us the issue is a furphy.

What a disgraceful situation that the markets and profits of Australian companies are eroded because of the irrational hatreds of some Australians

    This is economic terrorism

I will actively seek out the products that are being boycotted by these silly people and buy them to help keep the companies in business and make them more profitable.Good on them for standing up to these bullies.

This issue shows irrational hatred has little to do with the belief system and more to do with the right wing extremes.
