Kind of Blazer, Look at it in terms of Accumulation.
If you were accumulating would you want to do it at a lower price?
Houses can/will sell to each other to create the desired effect. All legal.
They can/will sell down and create fear to remove the floating supply, that's what I'm looking for in the high volume down bars, in particular the bar of the 20th of this month. It's a shakeout, or stop catching. ie, sell it down, create some fear, trigger stops, all while managing to add shares to your position at a lower price.
The high volume down bars are some of the triggers I look for, then it's a waiting game to try to work out when the shenanigans are finished, ie lower volumes. Then it's time to try to jump on for the ride on the next up leg.
Of course this is only confirmed retrospectively, my analysis could be wrong. I Set buy orders accordingly.
