it is winter in perth, and supposedly the coldest time of the year... ok - maybe it gets colder on spring mornings) - and watso does not use any heating.
when watso had a family, the wood fire operated 24 hours per day - watso himself had plenty of trees in his backyard, but would also scavenge wood from kerbside vegetation collection - and then dry the wood.. the bottom line was that the fuel for heating was free.
these days, watso being single, cannot be bothered with the wood fire - and also considers the neighbours, who might not appreciate a bit of smoke... mmm watso also has reverse cycle air conditioning - but for himself, it seems to be a total waste.
yet, watso is warm - just wear a beanie on the bald head and warm clothing - and nothing wrong with wearing ugg boots. in the bedroom, watso thought that he would miss the electric blanket, and the hot body of a woman - but hey warm bed gear, and a good doona is perfect.
lucky that perth has a Mediterranean climate, and cold is not really cold...mmmm really, the world is becoming way too soft - people lived in cold climes, well before the advent of central heating or reverse cycle air conditioning
