In 1971 gold was removed from backing the US dollar. The previous 5000 years gold and silver were the money.
Its a 50 year experiment gone wrong and half the world is turning against it. Keep your fiat in the bank earning 3% interest, borrow more, I am sure you will do well.
With no limits to money printing we can afford to be at war all the way into the future.

Australia was on the gold standard in the 1920's & had a high level of inflation, this is contrary to your fixed '2-3% inflation'.
