'morning Han, I spent a fair bit of time in the motor trade through the 70's and 80' s too. In spare parts we added 15% to the base trade price and 12% maybe 12.5% can't remember onto retail base price.
DaveR. a BAD (Bank Account Debit) tax could be a good idea, as you say an extra 0.1% on all transactions, debits and credits would assist. The average person putting maybe $50k through his bank account annually would pay $10 a year in a BAD tax if my maths serves me correctly.
At the moment we also pay up to 3% just to use a credit card...maybe the it could be legislated that 1% of that goes to the Govt?
