Everywhere you look there are stories about not being able to build houses fast enough.
OK so there have been a lot of cases of building companies going into receivership or liquidation.
But what about the essential ingredients. We've got the land. There's plenty of money, unless lenders have suddenly tightened their criteria.
Is there a shortage of materials? Have transport & shipping problems made supply chains slow down? Could be there's some of that.
So what about the skilled labour? Some laid off by closed down builders will be looking for work but that's maybe not enough.
Do we have special visas for the skills that are needed? And do foreign workers readily adapt to our trades?
What is preventing house building from being ramped up?
