Kids naturally accept differences in other children whether they be racial, religious or because they have same sex parents. My kids have met a number of children at school who have two mums and do not have an issue with it. The reality is that kids learn discrimination from their parents and you have taught your 8 year old that there is something wrong about gay parents.
What if your 8 year old turns out to be gay? You have just made it harder for him/her to accept his/her sexuality.
