This is an opinion piece and it's wrong. Dick Warburton surptised himself when he discovered just how valuable the RET is. Remember this scheme had bipartisan support and was initiated under the Howard government.
The writer doesn't even appreciate the aesthetic beauty of wind turbines gently drawing immense power from the wind. When she/he gets on to "forced to buy a proportion of renewable power" the piece gets crazy.
I don't waste mine on rubbish but someone who pays money to read "The Australian" should consider lodging a complaint.
