People are influenced by those in power. Trump is a perfect example.
But the biggest difference is we laugh at our lleaders, not obey them like the ME Muslims who are promoting their theological of subservience of their form of Islam thru out the world.
In that respect it has a racial component.
In the 1960 - 80's u wouldn’t have known who was a Muslim in respect of their attire and behaviour at home - even with them in our military forces
I can even recall when travelling thru Bosnia in the late 70s u couldn’t distinguish anyone who was Christian or Muslim because most drank alcohol and dressed alike except for special occasions.
The last time I traveled there, it appears as if the Ottoman Empire is returning!
