But I am constantly hearing about young women born in Australia who have decided to wear some form of Islamic head cover. One of these young people is interviewed in today's Press (The Age or Australian, I can't remember) and decided, at the age of sixteen,to wear the Muslim head covering in spite of the fact that her mother does not wear it, and is opposed to it. Who is proselytising these vulnerable young people to wearing outdated forms of apparel?
It goes against our experience with other migrants to this country who, over time, and with each passing generation, tend to integrate (not always completely, of course) into the Aussie way of life, and accept its values.
