Labor at 32.58% had a higher percentage primary vote than
    the Liberals.

The Liberal Party proper only received 23.90% of the vote
and even if one adds all of the Qld liberal/national primary vote to
the liberal total it still falls just short of the Labor primary vote.

When one adds the National Party proper vote that takes them to
just under 36%. That basically made it impossible for the coalition
to win the election because no way could they get the required
second preferences from minor parties and independents to get
    them to the required 50%+
    .
However, with Labor receiving most of the preferences from the Greens
who had increased their vote to 12.3%, Labors' path to victory was far easier
than the coalition as borne by the election result.
