They did everything right, according to the demands made by the right wing. They came to Australia legally (and not as refugees), became productive and well integrated members of society, lived and worked here for ten years. Now they’re being unceremoniously kicked out - given 28 days to leave the country permanently - because their 3-year-old son has cystic fibrosis and has been deemed “too much of a burden on society” (his treatment is too expensive).
This must be that famous Christian concern for the life of the child I hear so much about.
