I have researched extensively the feminist aspects of Islam and it is blatantly obvious that women in Islam were given more rights and freedoms 1500 years ago than women in the West were given 100 years ago.
It is only through propaganda and ignorance that people continue to blame Islam for ill treatment of women, meanwhile their next door neighbour is beating on his wife.
Violence against women is a WORLDWIDE problem. Every society suffers from it!
I read statistics this morning that showed in every war in the past 50 years women were raped in the tens of thousands. Most of these wars had nothing to do with Islam.
Mistreatment of women is man's problem. We have been doing it since the beginning of time and it is self righteous of us to point the finger at Islam.
