The inflation starts at the source of the newly minted currency, which is treasury bonds. The yield of government bonds is near multi-decade lows.

Bond traders also trade the stock market. The stock market is now a lot higher than it was a year ago. The yield of stocks have plummeted in the mean time, despite 'record corporate earnings'.

Bond and Stock market traders also trade the commodities market.

The trend of the price of oil over the past year is around 10% per year.

Please do not put quotation marks around words that I have never said. That is "ingenuous".

Has the Fed been successful?

The stimulus they hoped for hasn't worked out, but is that the fault of QE. Arguably the idea of QE has been holding the US economy up against the downward drag of fiscal austerity at almost every level of government. Without QE, the US would have really gone the hell.

People have been saying that to me for six years. If I had believed them, I would still be in Melbourne working for a living.
