IMO as we get more BEV EVs from China the price will come
down to what ought to be an affordable price for a working class
person clocking up more than 20,000 kms P/A.

Also IMO, this uptake will likely be in the mortgage belt where
house rooftop solar and battery storage is possible.

    The big question is:
If a BEVs were to be priced similar to equivalent ICEs
what would the car market look like?

With present pricing/product offers, BEVs & Hybrids make up about 18%
of the market with about equal shares and that trend seems
to be increasing by about an extra 5% combined P/A.

In the meantime, the conventional hybrid seems to be the answer.
I drove a Toyota Corolla HYBRID which produced 3.4 L/100 kms
and I was amazed by its hwy performance...when I floored it the
combined Engine/Electric Motor gave acceleration rate at least
30% better than an ICE Corolla.

The dash data display makes one aware of the ongoing Kms/Litre
and the %age of the trip on EV and how important it is to sometimes
lay slightly off the accelerator to enable the EV to click in while
maintaining normal urban speeds.IMO the objective should be
50% on EV which will halve the fuel bill.
