Hi Dave SSS
I drove a Yaris hybrid yesterday and I was amazed
by its acceleration. When the engine & traction motor is in full flight
they, combined, produce 99 BHP which is amazing for a lazy
looking mini-hatch of a ton weight ....nearly a HP to 10 Kgs of car!
I also tested it for regenerative braking and, in EV economy mode , it done
32 kms/litre which, with even E10 being $2.30/litre locally, is nothing to be
sneezed at ! And that was with the air con on low.
I am told that by over inflating the tyres by 10% adds 2 kms/litre and
can add 5000-10,000 kms life to tyres but I have no way of confirming that.
(Bly the way, if you are storing your car for more than a few months,
a reputable YouTuber has advised to overinflate the tyres to prevent
flatspotting)
