the momentum from the lead up of years made it impossible for it not to get worse.
take one at a time - eg. housing - it had to and has to get a lot worse before it stabilises and then probably years before one sees any improvement
IF one sees any improvements.

Out of a choice between LNP and Labor governments - Labor has the best chance of making any progress.
Personally I’d take it out of politics and set up an emergency housing crisis board and give it wide power - because it requires huge measures to address the situation as best as possible - impossible in Australian politics
