We've had a couple of threads, where the casualisation of the workforce was flagged as a concern, yet no concessions from the left would be entertained. Unless the employer feels a little more secure, or in control, regarding how they hire (and fire) staff, this 'casual' trend will continue. If Shorten gets in and unleashes more adverse legislation, to bring employers into line, the employer/employee relationship will further sour, resulting in less hours for everyone, and tricky times for the economy.
In my opinion, deficit and energy are our two biggest concerns. Having said that, without a secure employment market, we won't be able to give government much tax revenue to rectify our deficit problems, nor be able to pay our increasing energy costs.
