Friends with businesses tell me of the bad attitude/lack of care of employees is a very common problem . Where do people get this attitude from ? Home , school ?
Maybe this could be addressed at an education level at school ?
On the Boss side maybe the boss needs to think like an employee for a change ? If you are a semi skilled worker on a pretty low wage renting it is hard to get ' passionate ' about your job .
Maybe talk about potential pathways for the future for these people so that they can look at work as a positive thing rather than just a job .?Especially for young people . Retirement for them looks so far away and I don't think they understand that a career at work can be a great part of life .
I wish someone could have explained that to me back in the day .

Actually, acorn, I think you are on to something. Have a subject that promotes a committed working life, and start it early. It wouldn't hurt to throw in some basic financial planning type stuff, to show what your commitment for what you do, can provide for you.
