So assuming exchange rates mean we can't afford Chinese goods...
Surely that trashes the export-driven Chinese economy and encourages domestic ROW production; exactly what US and Aus policy has been striving for. China has kept its currency artificially low for decades for exactly this reason.
I don't see a problem for the ROW economy; quite the opposite.
