    Gasp. Shock, Horror, and all that.

    Australia's ridiculously high cost of labour - compared with China's - would mean the Federal government would need to subsidise the business and so, once again, we'd be hiding the real cost.

    Get rid of all existing subsidies, do not provide new subsidies, and allow the market-place to function as it should.

    Out-of-work people would then be faced with the alternative of starving or accepting lower wages and, with a bit of luck, Australia might be able to turn itself around and become viable rather than continuing the smoke-and-mirrors of a growing economy thanks to a Ponzi immigration scheme.
