Couldn't you save $1,000 and instead of buying an iPhone, buy a $30 Nokia instead? You could also save $1,000 and buy an IBM Capatible instead of a new laptop with Windows. Seriously, do you think people think like that. We live in a capitalist world where people are encouraged to buy new gadgets, new technologies etc. I could have saved $800 and bought my daughter a $100 trampoline instead of a $900 one. Maybe you need to realise that people enjoy spending money on new toys and having fun with them.
