I am a kiwi, the amount of construction going on around here is colossal, I've never seen anything like it in my lifetime, it's been like this for a few years, the idea that economies are failing is nonsense, worldwide, most major cities are booming, the countryside might be suffering a bit though.
The USA as it recovers more than most will have money pouring in, not only from investment but immigration from places like China. Ever see people lined up outside a Russian or Chinese embassy trying to get in? Except maybe traitor Edward Snowden.
Since 1975 the DJIA has compounded at 9%, since 2000 it's compounded at 3%, so I reckon there's a lot more to go as things crank up in the USA.
If the DJIA had compounded at 9% since 2000 it would be 36,700.
Since 1975 gold has compounded at less than 2%.
So as you can gather I won't be putting any of my hard-earned cash into gold.
