Yes it can be, because it is so rarely religion that espouses such qualities.
Religion is predominately about recruitment. You will find that the more fundamental, top heavy, superstitious and dogmatic the religion the greater the frenzy they will exhibit in proselytising and recruiting in third world countries.
I have know idea but I will bet that the American religions are on the ground in numbers in Africa, South America and lessor Asian countries. All that will do is make the problem far worse into the future. They'll step from indigenous voodoo to Western voodoo and their god will end up with white skin.
