The problem here in not Abbott, whether or not you believe him to be a marginalising figure or not. Abbott will go. He's temporary and another politician will take his place. The problem is the same problem that has been consistent across multiple continents and multiple countries from the time of Mohamed to the present day (several hundred years).
The problem is an ideology that can so easily incite sane, law abiding people to violence. Its the same reason why nobody mentions the "M" word or the "I" in politics or the media.
How can you run a society when a significant percentage are on a hair trigger for violence.
