The Jewish community is generally speaking more educated and industrious than the general populations in the West - is it the Jews fault that the populations keep electing morons who are more interested in themselves and the financial "rewards" of so called "public service"?
No, it is not - when the moronic populations take their collective eyes off "who wants to be a millionaire" "I'm a celebrity - get me out of here", the footy, or any other number of idiotic distractions that their useless Governments encourage - and implement proper oversight of public bodies to make it impossible for "interest groups" to hijack governments - then, and only then, will we get truly representative Government of the people by the People.
What is going on in The Gaza is the same - a population allowing themselves to be governed by "interest groups" The Palestinian "leaders" definately do not have the interests of the people in Gaza front and centre. They poked an angry bear with a stick and got mauled - what a surprise!
