Yup, that was the Religious order: to wipe out the Amaleks; kill all men, women, children including animals.
In those old days, that was how you settle PROPERTY DISPUTES.
After all, Amalek was the Grandson of Esau (brother to Jacob), who felt his birthright to inherit the Land of Israel was STOLEN from him. And his grandson (Amalek) was trying to right the wrongs his family had suffered.
However, the tribes of Jacob wanted to wipe them all out, leaving no surviving member of Esau's clan to claim the Land. Hence the Religious order to kill ALL Amaleks, including all women, children and animals!!!
Common theme throughout the millennium:
1. Who had the right to "inherit" the Land of Israel???
2. And Who "Stole" what from whom by cheating???
Even back then, the SEMITES were killing each over PROPERTY RIGHTS.
