A few years ago (in my mid seventies) I was in at my local medical fund to make a claim. They had visiting nurses from the diabetics association to give an on the spot reading to see if you might be susceptible to the condition. No problems I thought and proceeded to be tested. I came up borderline. The nurse kindly suggested a few items to consider as a change to my regular diet. One of the suggestions was to try almonds, hazelnuts and one or two others. Cashews weren't mentioned so I asked would cashews be OK as being a person with false teeth I had trouble with some items when chewing. The young lady looked me in the eye and said "So, you're a soft nuts - not a hard nuts fellow". I had no answer.
