I'm not sure what I really feel about this, nothing wrong in granting more rights especially if Kiwis have been living in Australia for a lot of years, I still think the 501s should be sent back if maybe they have been in Australia only for shortish period, some have been here all the adult life etc, but I guess if you do the crime you do the time. The voting thing worries me to, I know Australians can vote in NZ after living there for more than 12 months, BUT voting there is not compulsory so if they can vote here after a year does it mean its compulsory for them to vote even if they aren't citizens here, I'm sure that wont be the case but then it wont be fair to others who don't want to vote and are Australian citizens, anyway interesting to hear some comments.
