They were heard waffling on about Pelican Point being a thermal power source. Well it isn't, it burns gas from Moomba and it doesn't fit with their utopian green madness. Now here is the grab. I suspect that JayCo were reluctant to turn on PP because it would stuff up their precious percentages with regard to green energy consumption. They have the record atm. The second grab is that Engie, the non-Australian owner of PP, had Jay over a barrel this week. They could have fired up the plant but would have lost thousands of dollars, so I reckon they force Jay into agreeing to a deal. That deal all relates to a current 'green' tender in play atm. Winners get a subsidy. I reckon we will see Engie on the winners podium. The third grab, is that JayCo are trying to force the Feds into paying for another inter-connector. They certainly don't have the cash. Quite frankly, JayCo must have done their energy planning on the back of an envelope, and a green one as well.
