I'm not sure that you've done much research on Menachem Begin beyond a convenient "fact check". He was part of a Jewish gang that attacked and killed British (yes, British ... their supposed allies) in numerous terrorist attacks. They were hoping to kill Churchill as well but they deemed it impractical. So he was a significant figure, but "humble" is pushing it.

Here's how an interview with the "humble" Menachem Begin played out ..

British Diplomat Lord Howe when Howe asked “Are you the father of terrorism in the Middle East?”

"No,” Begin (Israel’s 6th Prime Minister, and founder of the Likud party in Israel) replied, “I’m the father of terrorism in the whole world.”
