The Israel war cabinet wanted to start a second front with an invasion of Lebanon but were only stopped by a veto by Netanyahu. Their war cabinet is locked into Gaza and any ceasefire will be considered a defeat.
The US is completely compromised by lobbyists and so Israel is locked into a war they cannot win by attrition.
Means that they have to escalate and convince other countries to put their troops on the ground. This is unlikely and hugely unpopular. Political suicide for a MP as the electoral mandate is not there.
Therefore Hamas has won already and it just has to play itself out.
