Julie Bishop has revealed that she advised Kevin Rudd during "Labor's leadership wars" in which Rudd and Gillard took turns to knife each other in the back due to factional differences whilst ignoring what was best for Australia and racking up multi billion dollar debt:
Whilst going on to global success and acclaim as part of the Abbott government, elected with a massive majority and odds-on favourites for a second term, Bishop has dismissed her opposition counterpart, Tanya Plibersek' as "only interested in playing politics with foreign policy".
Bishop recently spoke with Vladimir Putin regarding his role in the MH-17 tragedy, finding him "At all times he was warm, engaging and focused".
This contrasts sharply with opposition leader Bill Shorten who would not speak with Putin as "He I don't think, frankly, cares about what Australia thinks"
Shorten was unwilling to say whether this approach applied to other world leader such as Indian PM Narendra Modi or Chinese President Xi Jinping who recently enjoyed successful visits to Australia and deepening friendships with Prime Minister Abbott.
