You may have created this thread, but it pretends to be a music thread....
This thread does not pretend to be a music thread at all - it is a music thread but it has also been specifically named a 'violin' thread - it's intent was always such and as far as I'm concerned, always will be. Why you would think otherwise is your thinking - not mine. It's original intent has been breached and the thread has become a bit of a mixed bag - in the main try to steer it back to original intent even as cats start purr and dogs bark or good singers are posted.
As far as Whitney is concerned, she was a great singer, no doubt about that - but did not play the violin. But how does such a great singer die at a reasonably young age of 48 with the way she died? Then there is 'The 27 club':

Appropriate according to whom? Seems many of us get indoctrinated into idealistic ideas as is seen 'appropriate' throughout the ages. As times change so do ideals and so do some songs - some appropriate may even become inappropriate.
Music and musical styles has also seen many changes along the way - no doubt will continue to do so as many always seek out 'something new' as evidenced here and on other musical threads.
