Kevin has approximately 19 years experience working in the resources industry. He holds an honours degree in geology from the University of Western Australia. He has worked extensively in Australia and Africa on a broad range of exploration, development and mining projects, primarily focused on gold.
Kevin has previously held technical positions with Renison Goldfields Consolidated, Goldfields Ltd, and Placer Dome Asia Pacific. More recent management positions have been with Agincourt Resources (Oz Minerals) and Resolute Mining Limited in Indonesia and West Africa.
Until recently, he was Exploration Manager in Mali forResolute Mining, a position he held for approximately four years. Birimian managing director Kevin Joyce told reporters the company's Dankassa project in south Mali would be the merged group's initial focus, while the Korindji project in the nation's west was in a prime region for a potentially large, modest grade operation.
Korindji is next to AngloGold Ashanti's 13 million ounce Sadiola gold mine, which could provide a toll treating option for the merged group.
If Korindji winds up being a large project, construction of a new processing facility could be justified.
Mr Joyce said the hunt for more projects continued.
