In Australia, kids' sport can be CHEAP, or at least a lot cheaper than most alternatives.
There is of course variation in costs of different organised kids activities including sports . Families simply need to pursue those activities they can afford. There will always be idiots but the bigger picture includes sensible parents as well as a few high spending low income idiots.
Take Little Athletics for example. The basic cost for 1 child is $170 per season which includes activities and training ……. or only $70 after an Active Kids Voucher $100 is applied to the enrolment process. The vast majority of cheap activities are cheap because parents volunteer time and expertise.
Infowars has got this very ordinary and non-political subject WRONG. The authors use of anecdotes rather than statistical data points to appalling journalism at the very least.
The biggest cost associated with most extra curricular kids activities maybe time and petrol.
