If you read the twitter account of Ben Cohen's dad (Mark Cohen) @markc you will see that people have told him where they think the original accusation about his son came from.
They are blaming a troll instagram account Uma Kompton (might be a Russian troll) which was amplified by an Australian neo nazi Thomas Sewell and also Simeon Boikov, the pro-Putin propagandist aka Aussie Cosack.
Those last two "Australian" accounts have lots of like minded followers.
It would seem that the need to publish before checking with police led to Channel 7 making defamatory news reports and causing the Cohen family much distress.
